AWeber Pricing What Are You Really Getting for Your Money?
EmailTooltester is supported by readers like yourself. We may earn a commission when you purchase through our links. Of course, this won't increase the cost for you.
While AWeber has never been our favorite email marketing solution (for reasons we’ll explain in a minute), we used to like the fact they had just one simple, easy-to-understand pricing plan (AWeber Pro). The price would only change when your subscriber numbers went up, helping to simplify the back-and-forth often involved in picking the right plan.
But the introduction of three new pricing tiers has taken away that (slight) advantage. And, while you might be able to save some costs by opting for the lowest-tier Lite plan, you may also find yourself restricted by its limit of just 3 automations and 3 landing pages.
Which brings us back to why we rank AWeber so low in our rankings. Apart from finding their features underwhelming, and their user experience passable at best, these recent changes make their pricing even less competitive compared to other more affordable alternatives. Still, if your mind is set on this company, here is their offer:
AWeber Pricing: What Do I Get?
The Plus plan starts at $30 per month for up to 500 subscribers, and upgrades you to unlimited automations, landing pages, and lists/segments. However, prices go up very quickly when your list grows to over 500 subscribers.
There is a free plan, which includes some of the paid features, but this also limits you to just 500 subscribers.
Many competitors like MailerLite or Mailchimp offer a much more generous free plan, making AWeber's paid plans much less attractive. AWeber is generally quite expensive, and you can get even more features for cheaper with other companies, like Brevo. But let’s see dig in a little deeper to see exactly what you're getting on each pricing tier.

What Else Do I Need to Know About AWeber Pricing?
- Like with many other email marketing platforms, you are automatically bumped to the next tier if your subscribers or email sends go over the limit.
- If users are undeliverable / hard bounced, they are automatically removed from your lists.
- Thankfully, unsubscribed users no longer count towards your billing - which means that users don't need to manually delete unsubscribed contacts to keep costs down (like they did in the past). This is a much fairer way of charging for contacts.
- You can cancel your subscription at any time.
- If you have a larger list (25K and up, see our tips on how to grow your list), you'll get assigned a dedicated agent who will help you get set up.
- If you need help with the design, they can also help with that.
AWeber Pricing: Conclusion
As we mentioned earlier, AWeber isn’t our favorite solution for managing email marketing and newsletters. And they are not doing themselves any favors with their pricing and plans.
You get much more for your money with tools like ActiveCampaign and Brevo, which both offer a range of advanced features that AWeber doesn't, for example, advanced automations, CRM, sales funnels, dynamic landing pages, and more. Alternatively, there are much more affordable tools, which still have more features. MailerLite, for instance, is an excellent tool for beginners and also comes with a great landing page builder and design templates.
Ultimately, while AWeber may work for some small businesses or creators with simple needs, it’s hard to ignore the better value and functionality offered by its competitors. Whether you’re looking for advanced features, affordability, or ease of use, there are other platforms that deliver more without the frustration of unexpected costs. If you're serious about growing your email list and engaging your audience, it’s worth exploring these alternatives before committing to AWeber.
